Welcome to The Hope Is Real, where the depth of chronic illness meets the hope of healing and
the light of Jesus.
"We glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed." (Romans 5:3-5)
Hope was once this vague, please-God-heal-me notion that I
didn’t always believe in when I became chronically ill. And then I learned that
hope was there all along, and I grasped it with all of me and have emerged now,
healthy.
I want you to know that, no matter what society has told
you, no matter what your family has told you, no matter what doctors have told
you, no matter what you’ve told yourself, healing is right there, ready for you.
It is within your grasp if you’re willing to get up and walk—or even crawl—toward
it. And I am proof of that.
I have gone from a relatively bed-ridden twenty-something,
to an improved but extremely limited and still-suffering hermit, to a thriving,
constantly improving health advocate determined to share what I have learned.
I want you to benefit from my suffering. I want to
save you the trouble of going through what I have been through. And I want
you to benefit from my health. I want you to know that you too can reach it.
And I want you to know the One who paved the way for our health long before we were even worrying about it.
And I want you to know the One who paved the way for our health long before we were even worrying about it.
Hope is not a vague, please-God-heal-me notion. The hope is
very real.
