The Hope Is Real

Welcome to The Hope Is Real, where the depth of chronic illness meets the hope of healing and the light of Jesus.
"We glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; And patience, experience; and experience, hope: And hope maketh not ashamed." (Romans 5:3-5)
If you've been following me on social media or my last blog for any amount of time, you've probably gathered that things have changed. Wonderfully. So I believe it's high time for a new blog. New me, new blog. :)

Hope was once this vague, please-God-heal-me notion that I didn’t always believe in when I became chronically ill. And then I learned that hope was there all along, and I grasped it with all of me and have emerged now, healthy.

I want you to know right now, clear as day, black on white, that no matter what society has told you, no matter what your family has told you, no matter what doctors have told you, no matter what you’ve told yourself, health is right there, ready for you. It is within your grasp if you’re willing to get up and walk—or even crawl—toward it. And I am proof of that.

I have gone from a relatively bed-ridden twenty-something, to an improved but extremely limited and still-suffering hermit, to a thriving, constantly improving health advocate determined to share what I have learned.

I want you to benefit from my suffering. I want to save you the trouble of going through what I have been through. And I want you to benefit from my health. I want you to know that you too can reach it.

And I want you to know the One who paved the way for our health long before we were even worrying about it.
Hope is not a vague, please-God-heal-me notion. The hope is very real.

  1. I would love to find out what you've done to help with your healing...DNRS? I came to your blog through that, I think! But don't see any more than your first blog post...maybe you've just started? I've been doing the brain retraining for awhile now, and would love some encouraging stories from others. Or what other things you've done...

    1. Hi Diane! Yes, DNRS has been a huge part of my healing journey. I started it several months ago, but this blog is brand new, so I haven't gotten to share that story yet. Planning to soon! For now, you can see more about my story on my old blog here:
